Bethany Union, Newbury Street, Boston, MA

Resident Director

We are pleased to introduce Carolyn Jeffery, Bethany Union's Resident Director as of April 2010. She was selected for the position from an outstanding pool of applicants, particularly for her related experiences, organizational skills, attention to detail and creativity.

Carolyn is a graduate of Boston University where she majored in psychology and was a member of the Psi Chi National Honors Society for Psychology.

While at BU, she served for four years as an Ambassador in the Admissions Office, meeting with thousands of prospective students of all backgrounds and nationalities and their families, and speaking to groups as large as 350 people. She was also a Dean’s Host for four years for students in the College of Arts and Sciences. In addition, Carolyn was a teacher’s assistant for BU’s Psychology 101 course and a researcher for the University’s Twin Project.

Others have recognized Carolyn’s abilities as well. She was selected to serve as an intern with The White House Commission on Remembrance, an independent non-partisan agency established by Congress to promote activities to remember and honor the sacrifices of those who have died in service to the country, and their families.

She also interned with The Fulbright Commission in London, England during her study abroad semester. The Commission is the international exchange program (think Fulbright Scholar) designed to increase understanding between the people of the United States and other countries by providing students and faculty with the opportunity to study, teach, conduct research and exchange ideas to find solutions to international concerns.

We welcome Carolyn to Bethany Union and look forward to her leadership and partnership with the Board to enhance life at our residents’ “home away from home.”
